Yorsalem’s vocation as a Comboni missionary sister was unequivocal from the start. During adoration at the Comboni church in Asmara, she strongly felt God’s call to religious life. Now a dedicated postulant, Yorsalem prepares wholeheartedly for her future missionary service.
Mindful of her initial formation, Yorsalem strives to be vigilant and obedient. She sees this time as critical preparation for the missionary work ahead. As she explains, “I consider myself in preparation for the coming missionary years by being vigilant in my initial formation.”
Intercultural openness is also key. Guided by her formatters, Yorsalem actively engages in language learning to connect with diverse communities. Inspired by Pope Francis’ message that “we are all God’s family,” she hopes to embrace the richness of varied cultures.
Most vital is Yorsalem’s steadfast commitment to daily prayer. “I am very much careful about my prayer time and I try to give it the greatest priority,” she shares. Through deep connection with God, Yorsalem gains strength and direction.
