Sr. M. Carmela Sagato is natural Italian,77 years old. One of her gifts is learning the language.
As a missionary she worked in North Sudan as a teacher.
‘The Lord is true’. In the community where she was, they were only two .one day one of them fall sick and sr. M. Carmela was left alone and she didn’t know what to do with the sick sister. She called the provincial superior and asked if she can send one sister to the community. The new sister as soon as she arrived to the community she got malaria.
Now Sr. M. Carmela has two sisters who are sick she has nobody to help. She has no water even a piece of bread to give them. At this moment only a person who can help her is Jesus and she went to the chapel and took the tabernacle and said ‘You are here! Do what you want. My sisters are sick and I have nobody to help me’’ The following morning one old lady come with bread and said ‘What happen to you that I didn’t see you today?’ Because every morning the sisters used to go to buy bread. Sr. M. Carmela explained to her in which situation they are and received one bread because if she takes all the bread the old lady has nothing for herself. When the old lady left, the man came and saw the situation of sisters and took them to the clinic from where they could get medication.
Sr. M. Carmela continues her mission with challenging situation. The mission where she was, majorities are Muslim and the Muslim could afford school fees for their children in contrary, the few Cristians those who are Catholic could not afford school fees One of the students was cleaning the school and that he could get free school and once he diapered with out informing the sister. Then someone replaced him. After a month he came and wanted to continue his job and as well as his school but it was impossible. for him to continue as before. He went to accuse the sister that she has send him away for the school because he changed from Christianity to Muslim religion but which was not true.
The sister was taken to the prison ‘God is true” Sr. M. Carmela. She didn’t have enough language (Arabic) to defend herself. There was a guard in the police station said to the police man who wanted to put the sister in the prison ‘you don’t know what you are doing! You are in a danger ’In this way the sister was freed!
