Greetings! Together with the farmers in this region, Mongu, Zambia, we strive to discover ways to uplift the living conditions of those around us. Our approach encompasses faith and development, touching upon all aspects of life. Importantly, we welcome every human being, irrespective of their religious background, ensuring there is no discrimination within our congregation.
One of the key focal points of our work is empowering the youth in our area. Through engaging discussions and study sessions, we explore the profound teachings of the church, with a particular emphasis on the transformative encyclical, Laudato Si’. Our objective is to translate these teachings into practical actions that positively impact our community.
In addition to our work with the youth, I organize various activities to nurture the faith of children and instill within them a sense of compassion for others, especially the elderly and our shared home, “Mother Earth.” These activities provide a foundation for the younger generation to grow spiritually and develop a deep-rooted commitment to caring for one another and the environment.
Visiting the elderly in their homes is an essential part of my ministry. In these visits, I offer solace and comfort, sharing God’s consoling love with those who need it most. For Christian individuals, I have the privilege of bringing Holy Communion and sharing the Gospel, providing spiritual nourishment to uplift their souls.
As I embrace this calling to bear witness to Christ, I have encountered my fair share of obstacles and challenges along the way. Language barriers and cultural differences sometimes pose difficulties in understanding one another. Nevertheless, I have learned that patience, active listening, prayer, and maintaining an attitude of continuous learning from others help me overcome these challenges. These experiences have taught me the value of perseverance and have enriched my own faith journey.
At the heart of our mission lies the Mother Earth Center, run by the Comboni Missionary Sisters. This center has become a beacon of hope, where faith is seamlessly integrated with action, enabling us to make a tangible difference in the lives of people, particularly in the western province of Zambia. Through a multitude of activities carried out at the center, we contribute to the holistic development of individuals and the wider community.
Together, with unwavering faith and a deep commitment to the well-being of those around us, we continue to strive towards creating a more prosperous and harmonious society. By bridging the gap between faith and development, we aim to transform lives and inspire others to join us on this remarkable journey.
May our collective efforts sow the seeds of love, compassion, and unity, fostering a world where everyone thrives and flourishes. Let us embrace the divine teachings that guide us and work together to build a better future for all.
